My Brain is Fried
3I finished my midterm, about an hour ago, and after a few editorial corrections, duly e-mailed it to my professor. With that done, and counting the paper I wrote this morning, that means that I wrote 10 pages today. It’s not a lot, I’ll admit, but I’ve been so exhausted lately that my head is now mushy. I just now finished grabbing nine books full of critical material on Don DeLillo and Italo Calvino respectively. I should start going through them since I have two 15-20 page papers due in less than three weeks that I have not started (well, I have about 5 pages of the DeLillo one already). I have 90 minutes before class, but…god I want to go to sleep. I haven’t even read for class tonight, which I hate, hate, HATE, doing but…shrug…
See this whole thing going on here…this is me rambling. I am so over school right now. I have a ridiculous amount of papers to grade this week as well as finishing up my thesis, which I must defend on December 9th. I keep trying to remind myself that in a few weeks this whole grad school thing will be over but for some reason that thought is not very comforting at present.

3Which is the title of the research paper I am working on right now…the one that is, currently, about 7 pages long and needs to get to 13 by Thursday, which is, all things considered doable. Of course, I also have a 5 page paper to revise, and another 5 page paper to write, by the same time…so that’s not so good. Plus I take a final that night.
As an undergrad I would blame my current state of affairs on too much napping and video games, now I have “real” excuses like work and a kid. But I tend to work better under pressure, which is why I’ll have an ulcer by the time I’m 30, no doubt.
In case any one is, I don’t think curious is the right word, a glutton for punishment maybe…here’s a paper that I wrote about Emily Dickinson where I site both Douglas Adams and George Lucas as sources (oh yeah, I rock out with my c**k out)…and here’s one more on T.S. Eliot, though it doesn’t have any good citations…feel free to steal either to your heart’s content…
