A short preface by which to illumine your understanding of all things Normality Restored.

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Hello there.

I’m Kilian. How are you?

Fine, thanks for asking. Did you lose some weight?

Oh well, never mind.

So in case you missed all the banners of varying size and font type, this is Normality Restored. The one day resting place of the soon to be third to worst web comic in this corner of the interwebs.

We don’t actually have any comics yet, but don’t worry. What we’re lacking in visual stimuli we can more than make up for with boring monochromatic text. In fact, here’s a brief linguistic run down of the principle faces you’ll see around here.

Kilian: I didn’t start with myself because I have a big ego, OK. Just get off my back already!

Gilgrim: Wonder artist extraordinaire and a man who likes his pants snug.

Jess: My impossibly patient wife.

Bella: Small female human replicant created from DNA samples of both Kilian and Jess. One day evil genius, though currently still wearing diapers and.

Thor: You really have to experience Thor…words don’t do him justice.

The Car: Look, just don’t talk to the car, or look at him, or in anyway make him angry.

Others: Well, obviously I can’t describe them all.

Aural Junkfood…

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

This may not be entirely the best way to introduce my self, but here goes! Btw I’m gilgrim, the hack scribbler what draws stuff for NormailtyRestored. Oh, well thank you for asking, I am in fact very well ^__^ *ahem*

For some reason, the actress in this video reminds me of Ginger from GingerSnaps… I know it’s not… I love the interwebz~!
LesbianBedDeath-GothGirlsAreEasy

With an awesome band name like that, I’m not sure if they’re being serious or not… whocares ^__^ fun song, and why can’t we poke fun at ourselves, eh?

LondonAfterMidnight

And of course LondonAfterMidnight is always fun…

Alas, I am always left out in the cold.

First off, if said hypothetical dungeon did exist it wouldn’t contain rooms variously dedicated to Warhammer, punishing infidels, housing mid-level web celebrities in padded cells, and a bestiary of semi-magical creatures. It would not, I repeat, not run for some 2.3 miles and be populated by orcs and goblins in it’s lower reaches. And I certainly wouldn’t be using this hypothetical dungeon to house resources and weapons for a planned armed take-over of the Western United States.

While I am greatly appreciative of Gilgrim’s gift from the ol’ Comic Con de San Diego, I am quite sad about missing it. Not only was Phase II thwarted by Gilgrim’s insistence on being “law abiding” but Neil Gaiman was also in attendance. For those not in the know, Neil Gaiman’s writing ranks somewhere between air and water in the “List of Things I Can’t Live Without.” Of course, I have met Neil Gaiman once, but that was at a signing for Anansi Boys, so that doesn’t really count.

Now, though, I find out that Gilgrim is going to PAX on his company’s dime!

That’s some kind of damn injustice if you ask me.

I mean, great for him sure, but what about Kilian, huh? When’s gonna be my time?

Alright, you were patient…

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

I really, really did try and put this together last Friday, but frankly the entire week itself, seemed to be insane… so it didn’t happen. A good indication of this is the dialogue in the first panel of the sweet, sweet, sin comic… which I was glad to hear, made complete sense to Kilian. I don’t think anyone else got the way my brain was formulatin’ them there word things. Which happens. can’t be helped. However (!) I didn’t forget about the wallpaper thingies! So here they are ^__^ use, and enjoy as you see fit.

So there you go, enjoy . These were done all in the miracle of the digital realm via the alien technology known as Waccom combined with the mysterious magic of photoshop. I have to admit that it does feel weird to produce an illustration that has absolutely no real world evidence. I mean, there’s no sketch, no ink drawing, no nothing. The fact that the entire thing is digital just strikes me as odd at an almost cellular level. In a way that I can neither comprehend or seem to shake. But, maybe that’s just a sign of which generation I’m from. I’m sure that the next generation(s) coming up wouldn’t even blink at it, the same way that we no longer find anything particularly special about automobiles, cell phones, and intercontinental flights… or energy drinks.

And speaking of energy, I must thank Justice for this one. Behold the Power of Menergy!!! If you’ve seen this already, I’m sorry, but I think that the humor is decently on par with exactly what makes Idiocracy so fucking scary. Scary, scary, scary…

Cheers,

gilgrim

Moderate? Moderate!

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

This isn’t the sort of thing I signed up for. When I first opened up my e-mail and saw requests to “Moderate” comments by other users I was, frankly, shocked. No one ever told me that this sort of thing would require actual work. That’s not the sort of thing I signed up for.

Let me run down for you exactly what I was expecting in this deal.

1. Find an artist - check and double check (and hearty SUCK IT to all those a-holes who responded to my first attempt to find an artist on craigslist, I hope you all contract leprosy and your fingers fall off, but, ya know, in a nice way).

2. Write some strips - currently in progress

3. Make a million dollars - hey, it could happen…

No where in that plan is there room for stuff like, “read,” “click,” or “approve.”

And don’t bother pointing out that I could probably set the blog to allow comments automatically, or that doing so would take less time than it did to write out this complaint. I understand how user friendly wordpress is, OK? But I’m, obviously, lazy and if wordpress doesn’t use pshychic or voodoo like powers to intuitively know what I want then they have some functionality to add.

In an unrelated note, those wallpapers are the f-ing shiznit!
