Clearly we are in the end times.

I’m not as up on the Book of Revelations, or the prophecies of Nostradamus, as I might be. But I am fairly convinced that if a website I have any part in creating is getting any type of sustained traffic, then surely blood will soon rain down from the heavens.

Gilgrim sent along this (terrifying?) image….

That’s motherfucking VG CATS, underneath Normality Restored. That just doesn’t make any god damn sense! That’s like, a for real and shit webcomic. And it’s a good one too!

Who are all you people reading this? I don’t mean that in a, who are you, go away type of thing. I mean, who are you and how did you find out about this? Seriously, I’m confused and frightened. Also, grateful, don’t get me wrong. My earlier post about making a million dollars notwithstanding, I did not really believe we would get much traffic here.

It’s pretty awesome…at least for me. I mean, I know gilgrim is psyched as well, but he actually has fans already. I mean, he goes to comic con and he’s on the sit down side of a booth. But this is the first time I’ve had anyone (other than friends who are forced) actually reading stuff that I’ve written.

So thanks to you nameless internets browsers! Hopefully you’ve enjoyed what we’ve done so far, and hopefully it’ll only get better as time goes by. Also, please feel free to comment on stuff…I know I bitched about having to moderate comments (and I don’t, actually have internet access at home right now…I know, I have a web comic and no internet, I’m lame what can I say) but the idea of actually having people interacting on this thing is so exciting that my default setting of “Lazy” may no longer apply…just be patient as the moderating might come slow because of the whole no internet at home thing.

Thanks for reading,

I continue to be amazed by the intewebz…

This was an incoming link today…

I’m not sure how that makes me feel that our little webcomic came up on the first page on a search for “vouyerisum”.

In some ways, it’s kinda cool to come up on the first page on a search for anything, no matter how ridiculous the search term or how small the search engine.

On the other hand, it seems that pervs with poor command of the English language are our core audience.

Then again, at least we have a core audience.

A few thoughts on the nature of imagination, and how it often falls far short of the absurdity of the real world.

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Let’s say I had an idea about a story, or better yet, a film script.

Now this script was going to be somewhat avantgarde, kind of meta-fictional. The idea is this, I’m going to write a script about a local theatre company that is producing a live-action version of a bad, 15 year old action film. Let’s say, hypothetically, that film is Point Break. Now here’s the the really “meta” part of it. Every time the play is performed, the company randomly selects an audience member to play the title role of Johnny Utah (the role that Keanu Reeves had in the film). And to capture the true essence of Reeve’s performance, the audience member will read all of his/her lines off of cue cards.

This idea, while obviously ridiculous, is not totally unworkable. In a Christopher Guest sort of vein, it might very well work. But that would be in a clear satirical voice, in a world that is only related to ours, but in way meant to mirror reality.

And I’d say to you…

Well…

THAT’S A REAL FUCKING STORY!!!!!!!!!

Some times, not often, but every once in a while I impress myself with a sentence, or a thought, or an idea that I think is particularly original. And I’ve spent the better part of a decade writing seriously, but there is no god-damned way in hell I could ever come up with something as clearly shit-ball crazy as that.

It’s times like this that I really question my decision to pursue a career in the creative arts.

For fun and no profit

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Those that know me, or have been following my personal bloggings for the last year, know that I have a thing for French Bulldog puppies. You see, whenever I’m sad, or am having a bad day, all I have to do to help thwart the pain of my current predicaments is do a google image search for the inarguable cuteness that are French Bulldog puppies. Most of the time this works to an amazing degree. I developed the habit when I was working at Blizzard and my teammates and I would participate in ‘image search races’ where we would use the google function to try and find the best, weirdest and funniest or most random images the fastest.

This tradition and practice has continued into my new job. Although there is no official ‘race’ everyday, there is still the occasional need to find the weird and obscure. To this end, and in celebration of this weird and delightful net-surfing pastime I present to you my collection for today of the weird and unusual from ye olde interwebz. Behold:

A creepy man in a creepy hat

“Spiders are the fiercest hunters on the planet!”

this is why furries frighten me… O_O

. . .

And there you have it, my image findings for the day, enjoy, smile, and try not to think too hard about the weirdness that is out there waiting to be found on purpose or by accident in the digital-web-i-sphere.

–Aleister
