Clearly we are in the end times.

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

I’m not as up on the Book of Revelations, or the prophecies of Nostradamus, as I might be. But I am fairly convinced that if a website I have any part in creating is getting any type of sustained traffic, then surely blood will soon rain down from the heavens.

Gilgrim sent along this (terrifying?) image….

aug11th_stats_alexadotcom.jpg

That’s motherfucking VG CATS, underneath Normality Restored. That just doesn’t make any god damn sense! That’s like, a for real and shit webcomic. And it’s a good one too!

Who are all you people reading this? I don’t mean that in a, who are you, go away type of thing. I mean, who are you and how did you find out about this? Seriously, I’m confused and frightened. Also, grateful, don’t get me wrong. My earlier post about making a million dollars notwithstanding, I did not really believe we would get much traffic here.

It’s pretty awesome…at least for me. I mean, I know gilgrim is psyched as well, but he actually has fans already. I mean, he goes to comic con and he’s on the sit down side of a booth. But this is the first time I’ve had anyone (other than friends who are forced) actually reading stuff that I’ve written.

So thanks to you nameless internets browsers! Hopefully you’ve enjoyed what we’ve done so far, and hopefully it’ll only get better as time goes by. Also, please feel free to comment on stuff…I know I bitched about having to moderate comments (and I don’t, actually have internet access at home right now…I know, I have a web comic and no internet, I’m lame what can I say) but the idea of actually having people interacting on this thing is so exciting that my default setting of “Lazy” may no longer apply…just be patient as the moderating might come slow because of the whole no internet at home thing.

Thanks for reading,

I continue to be amazed by the intewebz…

This was an incoming link today…

I’m not sure how that makes me feel that our little webcomic came up on the first page on a search for “vouyerisum”.

In some ways, it’s kinda cool to come up on the first page on a search for anything, no matter how ridiculous the search term or how small the search engine.

On the other hand, it seems that pervs with poor command of the English language are our core audience.

Then again, at least we have a core audience.

I may have skewed the results a little…

Which sci-fi crew would you best fit in with? (pics)
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Heart of Gold (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy)You are a light and humorous person. No one can help but to smile to your wit. Now if only the improbabilitydrive would stop turning you into weird stuff.

Heart of Gold (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy)
100%
Moya (Farscape)
94%
Bebop (Cowboy Bebop)
75%
FBI’s X-Files Division (The X-Files)
63%
Deep Space Nine (Star Trek)
63%
Serenity (Firefly)
63%
Babylon 5 (Babylon 5)
63%
SG-1 (Stargate)
56%
Millennium Falcon (Star Wars)
56%
Nebuchadnezzar (The Matrix)
56%
Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica)
50%
Enterprise D (Star Trek)
50%
Andromeda Ascendant (Andromeda)
44%

And I’ve never seen Farscape, but 100% for the Heart of Gold, come on people, that’s a reason to celebrate! Of course, I knew that was an option going into the quiz, and my insane fanaticism of all things DNA meant that it was impossible for any other outcome to occur. Nevertheless, my score makes me very happy, one might even say, much more happy than is healthy.

Dear Internet, you are the best/worst/best again thing to ever happen to me…

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Because, when you get right down to it, the internet is the only place/thing/invention to be able to really chronicle the sheer insane ridiculousness of the human race. I assume that humans have always been as fucked up as they are now, it’s just that, in the age of information, we are WAY more aware of it.

If the theatrical adaptation of a 2-bit action film starring 3-bit actors wasn’t enough to convince you, then please read this.

It’s a report about one group of Klan members protesting (as in actual, go out in the streets and march) another group of Klan members who, themselves, are doing a protest.

I realize I have a penchant for hyperbole, but I swear to GOD, that might be the most awesomest thing I’ve ever read on a news site.

I’m reminded of the film version of Kurt Vonnegut’s Mother Night and Frankie Faison’s portrayal of Robert Sterling Wilson the “black Fuehrer of Harlem.”

I really think there’s a story here, and I don’t mean the “reported” story. I mean a flesh and blood piece of fiction. Someone like Vonnegut could really do wonders with the idea of competing groups of racists protesting each other. Of course, I realize, a bit wistfully, that I am not the person to take said “facts” and turn them into fiction…

Sometimes, not very often mind, a poor grasp of the English language can give one a moment of happiness…

For your consideration, the following visual delight is on display at Comics Should Be Good…

New Captain America Puerto Rico

And the entire post is basically this question, “Why does Captain American have the Puerto Rican flag on his chest?”

And I direct you, dear readers, to comment numero five-o, wherein someone named Kevin Riddle answers the question with this truly inspired reply…

Probably because the costume reeks of suck.

I think that a fairly lengthy paper could be written on the nature of “reeking” and “sucking” and how those two states of existence pertain to comic book costumes…P.H.d here I come!
