Random Normality of a Graphical Nature
A little something for fun!
Over at Warren Ellis‘ site, there’s a remake/remodel thread for lost or forgotten comicbook characters. I may or may not have had a registration to the actual forums of this site before, but I decided to sign-up now just in case and throw my hat into the ring as well… because it’s certainly fun to do these things every once and a while.
So here’s my entry:
The description was as follows:
Woman With A Black Heart. This nameless mystery woman appeared in Fun and Fiction and Bullseye in the 1930s. She was beautiful, never revealed her true identity or background, and had a “mystic black heart” tattooed on her forehead. She faced a wide variety of perils and adventures.

Ooooo, very cool. I wish I could draw. Guess my son will have to settle for my ninja stickman drawings.
BTW, how long did it take you to come up with the image from start to finish?
Firstly, Ninja Stickmen are awesome and deadly (think of how stealthy they can be when needing to hide)!
As for the image, the concept rolled out pretty quickly with me and April both throwing out ideas on it (say like 30 min or so for the concept to form). Then once I carved some time to put it together I think it took about 30-60min for the pencils and another 1.5-2hrs to ink. Had to let it dry over night, and then spent a large amount of time the next morning trying to get my beloved and ancient scanner to work with Vista (which it turns out is not possible… bastards), then once scanned I think it was less then an hour to finish it and post it etc (I actually started colouring it originally, but abandoned that version because of time)… so I guess in total from brain-thought to digital-press the complete turn around came in under 4.5 hrs or so. ^__^

Oh and i have to agree, ninja stickmen…quite deadly indeed.
