Because We Don’t Get Enough Site Views…Plus, I’m Kinda a Dick
So the other day Tengu sends me the following e-mail, posted here in its entirety:
So when is the good old NR going to start doing reviews like PA’s so you can get free swag like them?
So, follow the link and read about how Gabe got free table top gaming terrain. I mean, I’d love some free terrain for shizzy! Hell, I’d like to play a table top game like, I don’t know, once this lifetime. I got half an Empire Army still in boxes at suavo’s house. If I ever do play again I might just deploy the boxes as full units. I play so sporadically that the rest of the our group can’t do anything to me in retaliation, really.
But I digress…
In answer to Tengu’s question I humbly point you to the post title…we only have you six faithful Normalinauts and, last I checked, none of youse guys run a tabletop terrain manufacturing concern. And, over and above that, if NR did review anything, I seriously doubt that the owner/producer of the thing/item that was reviewed would ever read said review.
Another question, though, would be why didn’t I respond to Tengu’s email directly? Again, post title…second half!
I’ve added a ton of friends on Facebook recently, most of whom I knew long ago. See, I have a brother who is six years older than me. He is my only sibling. After our mother died (shit, this just got heavy) (I was eleven) we got fairly close. Anyway, he and all his friends started looking out for me. The upshot was that, by the age of 13, most of my friends outside of school were actually much older than me. I was going to parties and clubs every weekend with a bunch of 20-25 year olds. My brother recently joined Facebook and now I’m seeing all these names of people I haven’t seen in over a decade (which I guess is the point). Unlike most people from high school and college who generally just add/confirm me as a friend, these people have mostly all left me messages and stuff. I’ve responded to one.
Remember the post title?
I am, I freely admit, shit when it comes to keeping in contact with people.
I can’t even remember the last time Gilgrim and I had a conversation that didn’t include text. Probably never.
And since I’m really just wasting time until I tote that barge/lift that bale at the ol’ mine of books, here’s a little something that should make you laugh and want to make sweet sweet love to John Stewart.
