I think there is a chance of a comic being done sometime today or this weekend. Maybe I’m being blindly optimistic…probably. Anyway, I have a few minutes right now so I thought I’d share a few things…
I’ve already mentioned it but, seriously, is anyone watching Important Things with Demetri Martin?
Come on people!
OK, so someone at the bookmines asked me (a few weeks ago) if I’d heard Metro Station? I said no. Then he said, oh it’s this hipster/poppy/techno band that I think I shouldn’t like, but I do. Also, one of the dudes is Hannah Montana’s brother.
My response was to judge him mercilessly.
But, hey I like music (in case you haven’t noticed) and while BAD RELIGION IS THE GREATEST COLLECTION OF HUMANS TO EVER CREATE MUSIC, my tastes are fairly wide ranging…
Sidenote, a few weeks ago I was taking some promos home (I love you heartless music labels!) and one of my fellow bookminers (a different one!) pointed out to yet another (third!) minorette that indeed, I would have a most eclectic mix. The albums I had in hand were:
So, I’m not really opposed to any type of music out of hand…maybe ranchera…anyway I decided I should at least hear one song from this band before deciding they were horrible. So then I go and find this video:
Well god damn it if I wasn’t hooked! I mean, it ain’t Dylan or anything but it’s pretty infectious and that video has some sweet ass breaking!
I’ve always considered myself a punk at heart, but perhaps I need to let go of that long held opinion of myself.
But just in case you don’t believe me about the Bad Religion thing:
And lastly, apparently someone has tagged the Ol’ NR as pornography on StumbleUpon so that should make all (six) of the usual normalinauts feel good about looking at internet porn so often.
The Streets — Weak Become Heroes

I used to think I was eclectic, what with the Beach Boys, Mozart, Mariah Carey, and Weird Al sitting side by side in my CD collection, but I’m sadly sort of pop/adult contemporary-ish, with a hefty sprinkling of children’s CDs like Disney soundtracks, Larry the Cucumber, and Animaniacs. But hey, three cheers for the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything!
I prefer the song of the Cebu from “Silly songs with Larry.”
I thought “The Hairbrush Song” was high opera for several years.
Okay, another unrelated comment…
http://www.lollyphile.com/store.php <— you can get maple-bacon lollipops.
I raise you bacon toffee.
And then there was Chicken Fried bacon
P.S. I may be kinda eclectic when it comes to music. I’ve got GWAR next to bagpipes, Symphonic Deathmetal, Digerydoo CDs, and the odd folk music album. Indeed, Bad Religion is one of the best bands out there.
I’m all about bacon wrapped in bacon. That way I don’t need to worry about extra filler.
lmao “i know my rats are dying for something that they believe in”
