Here’s something totally unexpected.
I just, this very minute (well, like ten minutes ago) sent a new comic to Gilgrim. It’s only three fairly simple panels. We might actually have another comic this week.
Can someone check to make sure the skies aren’t running red with blood?
OK, so this week’s comic will get more into this, but I’m seriously contemplating get rich quick schemes. Probably you’ve all heard of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies…no, well imagine Pride and Prejudice and then add some zombies. No, seriously, that’s fucking it.
A minor side ramble here. What’s the fucking deal with zombies? Seriously, why do people get all queezy in the nether regions about zombies? I just don’t get it. I mean, in the hierarchy of horror style bad folk, I’d rate zombies only slightly above the blob, and under the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Joan Rivers. They come no where near the top of the list, that’s for damn sure (the top being, of course, werewolves…suck it vampires!).
Anyway, so this dude took 85% of a Jane Austen novel and added zombies. Now movie studios are bidding for the rights. Probably, were the film to ever get made, I would see it. Likely, I would enjoy it. Why the fuck didn’t I think of it?
It’s just like Phineas and Ferb. Why the hell do people always have to steal my good ideas before I have a chance to think of them?
The Libertines — The Man Who Would Be King

Zombies bother me mostly from the idea that you can have teeming masses of them in a very short span of time. With the exception of the “Underworld” movies, vampires and werewolves are typically depicted as a small numbered supernatural foe. Albeit a very powerful one, but still slightly manageable. In a large zombie outbreak, there’s just not enough bullets to go around…
Well, the sky is a bit more of a Burnt-Orange than Red but i’ll give it to ya.
How about Werewolves vs Zombies?
I feel that way when I watch ‘Will It Blend’. I mean… a guy using a blender to chop up rakes and glow sticks and GI Joe figures and videotaping it. Instant fame. Where was that camera when I was a kid?
Agreeing with Tengu. Zombies always have the numbers advantage along with having to chop off EVERYTHING just to stop one (sometimes with the head still able to bite and the arms still able to grab), along with the feel no pain issues.
i could never get into the zombie craze all that much. i think the true horror for me in zombie flicks that some people may be missing is its not the undead all weak and slow that is scary but the fact that the living are alive in a world of dead people. have you ever walked down the street or been at work and noticed that most of the people you encounter seem to be resembling the walking dead? i have and thats what frightens me about zombies but thats about it. its hard to believe that so much money has been made off of (as killian mentioned) such a low class of horror creatures. i would enjoy a good movie about golems sometime.
