Three Pieces of Bad News on a Monday

I should be working on a midterm right now. I am, in fact…or, I will be in a minute when I’m done writing this.

But I wanted to check in briefly to relay some infos that have come my way over the weekend.

First, there will be a Twilight sequel. Not a big surprise, since the film brought in 70 million over the weekend. I was holding out hope, however, that it wouldn’t get picked up. I know, I know, I was kidding myself. Just leave me with my fantasies, alright!

Second, which might, at first glance, seem a bit of good news. Terry Gilliam was able to re-aquire the rights to The Man Who Killed Don Quixote and announced he will give the film one more go. If you’ve never seen Lost in La Mancha, I can’t recommend it enough. Seriously, go out and rent it. But, I have a very bad feeling about this. Last time, the lead actor got seriously injured like, a day, into shooting and then nearly all the stuff they had out in the desert was destroyed in a flash flood. Now, I don’t generally believe in curses, but this one… I’m just saying, I fear for Gilliam’s life.

Third, and most depressing, ABC has canceled Pushing Daisies. FUCK YOU ABC! I hope you choke on your own vomit! Apparently, you’re only interested in airing shit like Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. I know it’s a business and all, and ratings are important and shit, but you’re keeping around a piece of crap like Brothers and Sisters for fucks sake! Is there no decency left in Hollywood?

I’ve pretty much given up on any of the “major” TV networks holding onto good programs. That’s why I just watch my fill of MythBusters on Discovery and Mail Call on the History Channel.

Did you hear that A&E may be launching a Steven Seagal reality show? I shudder to think about the actual content.
