Gilgrim’s Machinations…and Other Thoughts
I’ve done it. Against my better judgement I finally “twitted” (is that the proper past tense of ‘to twitter’…i’m not sure). I originally signed up soon after gilgrim did, but actually did nothing with the service(?) due to my fondness for annoying people by not doing what they ask…in this case, not “twitting” because gilgrim said I should.
See also: the copies of Green Street Hooligans and Firefly sitting in my house, unwatched and with only each other’s company to keep them warm at night.
But now gilgrim is off in Oz…and I’m lonely.
In long by gone days of yore (read: a few months ago), gilgrim and I would wile away the days on gchat. Then he started having work to do, and I started getting the evil eye from my boss’ boss. So even though we don’t communicate as much as we once did, I always felt that we could if we wanted to.
But now he’s down in SD at a table, no doubt, without access to gmail. So the only way I can send him pointless babbling is through the evil that is twitter.
Surely, I have fallen low in the eyes of the gods.
I’ll just say it, so there’s not confusion, but there will not be a comic today. Of course, one was already uploaded this week, plus the bonus “gobbo” art. And since gilgrim is nowhere near a Wacom, and I haven’t written one…well that all tends to limit the possibility of any comic actually being completed.
I’m probably going to submit my resignation letter next Friday, with a full three weeks of notice. I predict my already low level of work production to decrease dramatically every day from now until August 22nd.
I read that Amy Adams in engaged…I guess I have to take her off “the list.” I mean, she might not get married, being as she’s famous and all, but I just find that stalking nearly married (and married) women makes me feel…I don’t know, dirty.

You mean you don’t keep a “Married, but willing to cause shenanigans to their significant other so they end up breaking up list”? Will you be adjusting the blog space for your own twitter side bar?

No, I don’t think I have the time for that list, and give the appropriate amount of focus to the standard “stalking” list.
I’m not sure…I mean, twitter is limited to 140 characters. That’s not a lot of space for some as verbose (oh yeah, I used verbose), who likes to hear (read) his own voice (typed words), who is fond of using ellipses…
The blog allows me to be an a-hole in my natural, overly wordy, way. Twitter would limit that most heinously.

And yet you still sent me a freaken twitter invite. Of course that may be some kinda of revenge for all the technical crap I send your way destined to confound you.

Precisely my friend…I’ve received two e-mail responses today in anger about that request (well, the one from the wife was more like, what is this, why are sending this to me)…but who knows, twitter would be just another place to rant, and I do enjoy me some ranting.
