San Diego Comic Con - Preparations

It is true. I didn’t buy tickets this year. I had planned on attending Saturday, one of the two days that our very own Gilgrim would be signing, but left it too long and, alas, that day was sold out by the time I got around to it.

I’m going to make a sad admission…I’ve never been to the San Diego Comic Convention. Every year, it seems, I make plans (or tentative plans) to attend at least one day, and every year I don’t go.

I really have no clue what my problem is.

I really wanted to go last year. The guest list was much more to my liking then this year’s. And even though Neil Gaiman is, at this very moment, in the San Diego area he won’t be at the Con.

Hence the stalking gear….

So if you are lucky enough to be at SDCC either Friday or Saturday, say hello to Gilgrim, won’t you. I know he’ll be pleased as punch to see you…well, maybe not punch. And after you say hello, you can purchase 50 copies of the Cemeterians trade for you and all your friends.

In any event, I know all faithful normalinauts join me in wishing the Gilgrim clan well down at SDCC.

Yeah, our group blows in making plans to attend SDCC doesn’t it? Looks like I’ll be shooting for SDCC 2010 at this point.

Hmm, Kilian the master of the Laziness can not figure out why he never makes it to ComicCon. Well, it could have to do with all his recreational exploits but I’m not going to go there.

I wouldn’t say I’m the master of laziness. I do have a full time job, go to school full time, have a daughter, have this website, am working on two novels…but everything not related to any of those things gets pushed aside…

I seem to remember a number of conversations involving you wanting to do as little work as humanly possible. The latest one being a week, and a half ago.

I’d call ComicCon related to the site though somedays that gets pushed aside too. I was actually thinking more along the lines of procrastinating, and then forgetting about ComicCon until it was too late.

There is a difference between not wanting to do “work” and being lazy…when “work” involves manual labor.

Back Breaking manual Labor is good for you since you stopped being part of the football league.

I was going to argue about the nature of the true master of laziness, but I didn’t feel like putting the effort into it.

Yeah the true characteristics of a lazy master, or lazaster as I prefer to call them, are the following

    1.
    2.
    3.

Forget it I’m just going to go play some Mario Kart.

I’ve never been to San Diego either, but I have the more plausible excuses of living in MN, not owning a car, and being poor. I’d love to go though. It sounds like a lot of fun.

We were too poor to go this year. :( We went last year though.
Oh, and I got a copy of the Cemeterians at Borders…only one though. I asked for 3, but they weren’t paying attention to the quantity.

Has it been Spo-stocked yet? If so, can I put it on hold until this weekend?
