The last one was hard since I have to do all the drawing and coloring and such with the mouse, but I like how it turned out. I probably made about ten more steps than necessary, but... noob.

Well, speaking as a teacher of children who these books were intended for, I don't think there will be any problem with today's generation comparing any movie to a book. As I sit day after day and listen to the insane babble of 12-15 year olds, I realize that books are becoming a thing of the past. What normal 21st century urban-ish kid sits down and reads a book anymore? Few to none. So, all of these books that are being compared to other books, or movies being compared to books are wasted on this generation of internet using, video game playing, lazy foul-mouthed hooligans. I beg all of you with small children to lock away the WII's, playstations, and X-boxes and put a book in the hands of the next generation before all the Barnes and Nobles and Borders become an empty void.

Since you guys were posting your wallpapers and stuff (what about one for a phone?) I figured I'd get off my behind and post those icons I made. Just four, but there might be more later. Be kind. I'm not all into that screening layering masks brushes stuff.

The last one is my favorite, I think. Certainly took me long enough.

As a written work the Chronicles of Narnia isn't a bad children story but I've had it. Though compared to my first forays into the fantasy(Dragonlance, The Hobbit, Beowulf) genre I found it lacking.

As to the Bible being sexest I'd put it several tiers below CS Lewis' works. At least the "Good Book" has women in nontraditional roles for the time periods.

Well, if kilian Trained night, and Day for 5 years I might be inclined to let him play with a sword. Figuring that if he hadn't killed himself by that point, he might not do it in the future either.

T-shirts could be something that could happen. I'm just saying .

what is it with you people thinking i can't handle sharp bladed objects...that one time i totally slipped and that knife flew out of my hand into that other guy's eye...seriously, that's exactly what happened.

my contention is not that cs lewis is the be all and end all of fantasy writers, and i agree that the narnia series isn't on par, in a literary way, with tolkien, but it was one of my first exposures to fantasy fiction in general (that and The Phantom Tollbooth) so it has a special place in my heart, and i wasn't forced to read it so i have no lingering aftertaste of fascist/religious a-holery

as a fantasy text for children, narnia is very strong, i think. certainly not the best thing lewis wrote (from a purely "writing craft" perspective, that would be the Screwtape Letters), but i can think it stands up very well against the gluttony of children's fantasy that's come out in the last few years when you take into account who wrote it and when

I like how Kilian is always rip roaring drunk, agro/angry, or naked in the comics.
And really, c'mon english major, c.s. lewis was only cool in junior high, before you read anything of real quality...
