In answer to gilgrim’s question…
Saturday I was, as usual, at the bookmines toiling away in the dark recesses where only goblins and damaged remainders dwell…
Sunday, brought me to four solid hours where I actually sat down and worked on one of my novels…I had to stop several times and administer self-inflicted pain to convince myself I was not in some dream-like alien world…
My bruises are proof of my hours of hard work.
And I will have many more such nights in the next three weeks, because I am under a serious deadline. No, as of yet I have no publishing deal. There is what you might call a “contest” that I am entering, but the final day for submission is the end of this month. I have, I think, 30 or so pages left to finish novel #1. Then I have to cram as much editing time as I can into the remaining days. Suffice it to say, the next few weeks are of much importance to me and my continuing attempt to actually make some money with this whole writing thing.

Does the title of Novel #1 start with the letter “C” by chance?
January 8th, 2008 at 11:16 am
No, it’s starts with “T” as in “The…”
I think you are referring to the miscellaneous title by which it was previously referred…

Are we allowed to know what it’s about? Genre? Page count? Font?
January 8th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
Techincally, it would be sorted as “C*&%$*&, The” so my first assertion should still be valid. Unless you were thinking “The Z*^% *&^^*&%$&$# *& *&*$%#….” Yeah, I was a bit lazy to encript the whole title. If it is indeed the one I think its about 500 pages by my guess just judging from the two rough drafts I found on my work computer.

Do me a favor and delete those, would you…they’re probably quite outdated anyway.
January 8th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
And yeah, I was referring to the second title…
January 8th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
at least throw out what the genre is man…
January 8th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
High-minded avante-gard literature that plays on several levels of meta-fictional content and carries so many metaphors that it borders on allegorical mythology…

Plus, as is my trademark, it has a werewolf…because, as I say in every workshop class I have, a werewolf can make any story better.

Just because said rough draft part 1 is 3 years old as of 3 days ago doesn’t mean I don’t occationally enjoy reading it. As for rough draft numero dos its 3 years old as of May something. Is the werewolf Leeroy(may not actually be in said story)? As Leeroy really needs to be a werewolf!!
January 8th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
no no, the werewolf in there isn’t based on anybody…he’s in part 2 and 3, though you haven’t seen part 3…and part one is much shorter now…a lot of the “fluff” has been cut…
January 8th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Part one is shorter!!! Okay, I do know what you’re talking about in part one, the whole $%^#$@ @#&*#^$# #*$%#@%^&*# really didn’t fit after part one ended. Which fluff parts were removed? Was the why to speed the story along?
January 8th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Pretty much…I liked how most of that was written, if taken by itself, but it ultimately took away from the narrative, and once part two starts, the story really picks up, so shortening part one just makes sense anyway…
January 8th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
I wasn’t refering to OUR Leroy but THE LEEROY!! To this day my stomach hurts from laughing so hard at this video.
January 8th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
WOW…just wow. That is pretty funny…I don’t know who that Leeroy is, but I can assure you that the werewolf from the story would have faired much better in that situation…
January 8th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
But if I get rid of the draft that’s archived on my computer, then I won’t be able to make with the fanboy collection of the “Lost” version.
January 8th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
I…guess…but since you and I shared a room in college, do you really need any other piece of fanboy cache?

Don’t forget the following year before Tengu was shipped off to the Navy.
