Step one: post a poem from a Romantic Poet who has been dead for almost 200 years.Step two: post another poem from that same Poet.Life May Change, But It May Fly NotbyPercy Bysshe ShelleyLife may change, but it may fly not;Hope may vanish, but can die not;Truth be veiled, but still it burneth;Love repulsed,–but it returneth!Yet were life a charnel whereHope lay coffined with Despair;Yet were truth a sacred lie,Love were lust—If LibertyLent not life its soul of light,Hope its iris of delight,Truth its prophet’s robe to wear,Love its power to give and bear.In a way, I think this poem works as a very good bookend to the one posted before. Interestingly it was written the same year as the previous one I put up. As I said about the first, I thought there was more to it than just an overwhelming sense of depression; that there existed something a bit complex underneath it all. And here we see a generally optimistic piece about the everlasting quality of hope. But the last stanza seems to linger a bit on that same drepressive sentiment in the other poem.Kilian - Icon

A few brief updates

Friday, November 16th, 2007

First off, there will be, very soon, a return of comics to this, the most uncomicy of all web-comics. And I KNOW I’ve said as much before without actual comics appearing, but I’ve already seen said comics and so I can actually verify their existence.

And we might even see a return of Gilgrim…he’s not entirely returned from a place I like to call “the land of haggling and bullshit,” but he’s at least near a metaphorical telephone and will be able to phone in…

Lastly, I’ve often linked to Poor Mojo’s Newswire because it’s a place I get news. Also I know Mojo. You might even say that, if there existed a quasi-diety who presided over all small to medium sized internet endeavors, than Mojo would be my said diety.

Of course, the Poor Mojo empire has many capable souls manning her battlements, but I don’t personally know any of them…geography, she is a cruel mistress! But since I’ve been reading the newswire and almanac(k) for several years now, I have to say that I feel like I know them, in some small way.

So it was pretty awesome to see dave-o (AKA, Hugs) on the massively popular Ze Frank

Sorry for the link, the flash won’t embed…sigh…
