Oh I have excuses.

My presence has been, shall we say, minimal of late. Many reasons for this.
First and foremost, the daughter got chicken pox, then croop, then an ear infection all in the same month. Somehow during the most recent illness both mom and I also got sick.
As one of the more recent strips alluded to, I began school again.
Also, I started a new job.
Plus, it appears that Time Warner, under no circumstances whatsoever, wants me to give them money for cable tv and internet access. I have tried pleading with them, yelling, crying, I even offered to bake and Fed Ex them some cupcakes but all to no avail. They are dead set on never coming into my place of residence and installing said cable. My wife asked the other day, “Do we have a cable bill yet?” to which I replied, “What the hell can they bill us for, they haven’t provided any type of service.” Apparantly, they are content with heedlessly pushing back our installation date wily-nily. At this rate, I fully expect to have my cable modem installed sometime around April 2009.
Anyway, as a sort of piece offering for my flagrant absense I offer the following slice of internets goodness as a peace offering.

Friday yay! W00t! And such… anyway, it is Friday, my trusty Pirate Wench Calendar lies not. And since it is Friday, there’s a new Normality Restored webcomic. April is an important if not central part of my life, and obviously should be in the comic, and I have no problem with that, but I wanted to wait for just the right moment. Obviously with the baby coming, there’s plenty of fodder for future strips involving pregnancy and the like as well as babies, children in general etc. But there has been something that’s been happening lately that actually served to bridge this gap of content for the strip and that is the current soup-catcher that is growing on my face. April has her own reservations about this, but nothing too bad. We’ll try it for a while, and I started growing it, because, well, it makes me feel a bit more ‘fatherly.’ Enough blather, here it is:
So now, we go back to work. The upcoming ‘release’ of the real Normality Restored website is only mere weeks away (same URL, with a new design, and regular update schedule and shenanigans). Which only leaves us a limited time to do what must be done, which mostly involves playing vid-games, procrastination, and apparently fighting with Time Warner Internet installers… wish us luck!

Are those Bugle Boy Genes?

So, today, we had something of a slight scare regarding the heir to the mighty Giglrim fortune. Luckily, the crisis was averted and it seems that everything is natural, well and the way it should be ^__^ So yay! In fact April and I were able to get a Ultrasound of our whee one a little bit earlier than was initially planned. So here it is, for those what wish to see
the next step in human evolution.
April and I have been watching the box set DVDs of Heroes, so needless to say, it is April’s understanding that the baby will have some sort of ‘special ability.’ Currently, the debate is exactly what that special ability will be… any thoughts?
Right now, what we do know about the baby is that it is healthy, jumps like a jumping-bean (we saw it, trust me!), has no immediately discernible siblings, and is too young for us to tell the sex.

Ok, so I finally got this one done, and like last time, the pencils and the script and all of that was done earlier this week… unfortunately, it took a while to finish inking, and colouring it. So I hope you like it still, even if it is coming in late today.

As for me, I’ve just wrapped this up, and spent far too much time today trying to sort out the wacky internet bugs for the Trickster Online webcomic… which sucked. A lot. I mean, a lot, a lot. So now, I’m going to go to sleep… thanks for checking out Normality Restored, and make sure to keep checking back as we get closer and closer to the “official launch” of the Normality Restored website next month.

I was meaning to do this last week, but many things got in the way. A new strip will be coming this Friday, but in the meantime, it’s time for a bit of “catch-up.” So here are the current, NormalityRestoredHooliganFutbolLeague standings, according to the official NRHFL scorecard…
currently, ManU (my club) is behind, but not as badly as it could be compared to the current record for Kilian’s club… luckily, this is still early in the season. Time will tell, time will tell. Until then, back to work!… *sigh*
