San Diego Comic Con is Ovah! Ha!
SDCC is also sometimes called the ICC (international) but who cares, it’s sadly not much about comics anymore… and certainly isn’t very international unless you consider the interest of the major hollywood production houses, but I digress - I have returned! And I bring gifts! Well, some people who know me already, got gifts, because they’re special… but this is an even more specially special gift. Normality restored is set to be an online webcomic (and some other stuff, I’m sure as well in the future), and while this blog for the site has been active, there hasn’t been a whole hell of a lot of comic to go with it (my fault, since I actually, draw it… damn). But fear not! In the proud tradition of Killian’s idols and certainly a duo that I respect and admire - let us commence with some artwork! Notably, a post-con sketch or two detailing some events at the con itself ^__^
Enjoy!
…and to go with it, here’s something that for those that were there will probably be amusing. For those that don’t know the story, on our ever bounding quest to procure some form of mind altering alleviation from the heaving throngs of unimaginable humanity that is SDCC, we ran across a drunken homeless robot that works in the local Ralph’s supermarket. He only has one set of words that he may use to communicate, as we later proved the second encounter that we had with him (from the sketch, you can probably guess what those 4 exact words were), and apparently, they only feed him in ice cream.Weirdness to be sure.
Okey doke, I think that’s enough of my tripe for now, remember these are simply sketches and quick ideas thrown down with ink and paper. The real comics will look much, much better I promise ^__^ - see you all later!!!

Hey, you guys are the ones that didn’t want to go to the parties. When we called you, you were too busy hiding in your hotel room to go down to Gas Lamp. I could’ve bought you drinks! D:

LOL - thanks, but we did go to the parties… and the other horrible catch phrase birthed from this weekend, was the “I know, let’s go to the Hyatt!” which inevitably, made for a very crowded and unnaturally noisy situation… but thank you for the offer - free alcohol is not something I am likely to turn down ^__^

You know Killian used to have a Dungeon under his old house. I’m just not sure about the new place, its got the whole new house smell so a dungeon could be hidden below.

sweet! I want a dungeon, my unwillingness to adhere to Kilian’s plan was simply born out of the jealousy that he might even *possibly* have a dungeon of his own…

its called comic con international now because there 5 year lease of the convention center is almost up and they wanna move the convention to vegas so they can have more room and so they can litteraly have things in different buildings … the las vegas convention center is so big (so im told) that there hoping to put movies in one building and comics in another and so forth so there trying to move away from the name san diego comic con and use the comic con international thing now…although i do agree its a stupid name

Yes, the Las Vegas Convention center is rather big, or huge as it may be. Not to mention that travel there is a little bit cheaper than SD for most folks.

Not me…San Diego’s 90 minutes away, Las Vegas a few hours. Plus, Vegas is decidedly more expensive while you’re there…the lure of the roulette wheel being impossible to deny.

True, since we’re based some 100 miles away from where it is currently located where-as Vegas is 200+, and Vegas doesn’t have a Amtrak linking us. My point was there is a rather large airport in LV compared to SD.

Oh, well if you’re referring to other people, then sure…

from how the con was this year it would seem fitting to put this whore like convention in a whore of a city. what the hell does harold and kumar have to with comics, along with half of the movies at preview night. moonstone books (a favorite) did not have a table this year(the first time in at least 4 years) due to price changes in tables and booths, they were not the only ones not present. its odd that some of the writers for these screenplays are putting writers of comics out of business (the very people they “take” inspiration from). at least when marvel or dc rapes the industry they will let it crawl back to a standing position rather than kill it.

i know its rather depressing that the COMIC con has so little to do with comics now a days…i mean its kinda cool that we get to see things early and stuff but i could care less really … get your own damn convention…at least some of the movies are comic book based but yah wtf is up with harold and kumar and stuff like that…i heard good luck chuck was at the one like 2 years ago..thats just sad ….yah and ancient squid didnt go this year either and i was sad because they re awsome… its like every year comics slowly get shoved further and further into the corners… OH yah and at least in vegas it wouldnt be nearly imposible to get a hotel room i live kinda far away to not stay down there and i almost havnt gone a couple years cause i couldnt get a room
